Just like with spur gears, the solution to this difficulty is to curve the gear enamel. These spiral teeth engage just like helical teeth: the speak to starts off at one end of the equipment and progressively spreads across the entire tooth.

On straight and spiral bevel gears, the shafts need to be perpendicular to each and every other, but they need to also be in the same plane.
